The goal

You're given two characters. Build a chain from one to the other in as few links as possible. A link is anything two characters share a category from their wiki page or a power/skill.

Making moves

• Type a character's name. If they share a link with the end of your chain, they're added and the link is shown. Suggestions marked "connects" will work the list floats connecting characters to the top.
• Browse links shows every usable link from your current character with its size click one to see who's inside, click a character to jump.
• ✕ on the newest link removes your last step. Click any image to enlarge it and see full details "Add to chain" appears when that character is a legal move.

Scoring

Par is the shortest possible chain, computed by an exact search. Match it: "Perfect!" Go over: you'll see +1, +2… The end screen shows the optimal route whenever you beat par is impossible

What counts as a connection

One shared link is enough — but it must pass the filters:

• Size range: a link only counts if the number of characters sharing it is inside your min–max range. Broad links ("Anime Heroes", thousands of members) never count the max slider decides how specific links must be.
• Not blocked: links you've blocked in Options never count for you.
• Both characters playable: only the most-connected ~4,000 per side can be chain steps. Everyone else is searchable and viewable ("view only") but has too few links to play through.

Difficulty

• easy / medium / hard are presets for the max link size (≈200 / 60 / 20).
• custom: set your own min/max link range, pair type, series filter, or exact start and goal.

Sides & pair types

● villain · ● hero · ● both wikis. Characters on both wikis bridge the halves. In Options you can restrict puzzles to Hero ↔ Villain crossings, villains only, or heroes only.

Custom start & goal

In Options, type an exact start and/or goal. Leave one blank and it's filled randomly ( your pair type and series filter). If your two picks share a direct link, that's a 1-link chain which just don't work, pick a different pair or tighten the link range so that shared link stops counting.

Odd One Out (mode)

Switch modes in Options. You see several characters — all but one share categories with each other click the impostor. Difficulty controls how alike the group is and how many cards you see: easy = 3 cards, the group shares ≥1 category and the odd one shares none medium = 4 cards, group shares ≥5, odd shares ≤1 hard = 5 cards, the group shares ≥8 categories. Custom lets you set all three numbers yourself. A correct pick extends your streak a wrong one resets it. After each round the categories the group shared are revealed. Your link size range, blocked links, and series filter all apply here as well.
